Is Keith Wellman’s Automated Sales Formula VIP Package a Scam?

From my experience I cannot say if the ASF program is a scam “now.”

But, when I purchased it in January, 2010, it was not fully working. There were many operational & software problems. When I finally stopped trying to make it work, I was told that there was a refund grace period of only 72 hours. When I protested, the customer service folks put up a stone wall and continued to refer to their 72 hour grace period as their only policy.

So, here is my response:

  1. Their system was so complex that it was not possible to try everything within 72 hours.
  2. Their software was not functioning appropriately and so it was not possible to determine if their system worked at all (for the parts I had tried to use) within 72 hours.
  3. When I had put in 15 days of using their system, and I had achieved 500 click-throughs to their squeeze pages, I had only one visitor give an email to watch the sales video, and that person did not confirm their email address, so the approach had a zero conversion rate before the sales page.
  4. The customer service was not sympathetic to their failures with their operations or their product effectiveness and refused to refund my almost $500 purchase.

A Planned Scam Based on his Business Design

So, from my perspective this is certainly a planned scam. They seem to have set up their “procedures and policies” to take their client’s money and not refund it. Their 72 hour “grace” period is aligned with their complex product which cannot be evaluated to verify its effectiveness within 72 hours.

It seems certain that Keith Wellman knew that he would have a certain percentage of folks who would want a refund of their purchase price based on the non-operational software and poor performance of the products he offered. It appears that he established his policy of a 72 Hour Grace Period specifically so that he would continue to obtain his income, even if he did not deliver what his sales pages promised.

Remember that the industry standard Money-Back Guarantee is at least 30 days and many reputable Internet Marketers are now offering a 365 day Money Back Guarantee. His insistence on the 72 Hour Grace Period seems to be a clear indication that he does not care to have satisfied customers.

From my perspective, this is a business plan which is designed for taking our money and providing poorly performing products, providing “customer service” designed for their profit and our loss, and not delivering on the sales promises.

What could you do instead?

Traffic: (ASF uses their own home-grown Twitter traffic generating software which did not work operationally or effectively for me.) You can do much better with Tweetsbot, which gives you the ability to build a solid tweeter-based traffic generating facility for less than 10% of the cost of ASF. Read their free ebook to see what this could mean for your Internet business.

Internet Business Design: I suggest you check out Quattro which guides you to clearly organize your Internet business based on what you love.

Affiliate Internet Marketing: I also suggest that you check out Secure Internet Income which is a clear-cut and practical way for you to build a profitable affiliate Internet business.

Is Keith Wellman A Scammer?

He certainly designs his business approach so that he wins and he does not seem to care if you win or lose.

He started selling a product which was not yet fully operational and refused to refund the purchase price of that product to a dis-satisfied customer.

My assumption is that he will not change his business design for his next offerings. I would expect he will continue to organize his business procedures and policies so that he wins and he does not care if you win or lose.
